The separation factor is the ratio of the centrifugal force exerted on the mixture in the centrifuge drum to the gravitational force exerted on it in the gravitational field, i.e. the ratio of centrifugal acceleration to gravitational acceleration. Separation factor is the main factor affecting the separation effect of centrifuge! Other factors are the thickness of the filter cake, the number of filter cloth mesh, the solid material form, particle size, etc.
Filtered separation principle
The liquid phase passes through the filter cloth and tends to the outer shell space of the drum liner through the drum holes, while the solid phase is trapped in the drum to form a cylindrical filter cake.
Sinking barrier separation principle
By continuous centrifugal force, the liquid and solid phases in the mixture gradually stratify due to the specific gravity difference, with the solid phase forming a cylinder on the inside of the drum wall and the liquid phase on the outside of the drum wall.
